We have New and Rebuilt SU Pumps and stock all Rebuild Kits and Parts for SU Pumps.
Scroll down to see pumps and parts listings.
We service fairly new or rebuilt SU pumps that stopped working because of dried or gummed up fuel from sitting. Many of these SU pumps need to be disassembled, cleaned, fitted with new gaskets, and can be reset for a fraction of the cost. Many do not need replacing.
Reconditioned and restored to new
We
offer new pumps, rebuilding your current pump or providing you with a
rebuilt pump in exchange for your current pump. If you require a brand
new pump, there will not be a core charged and a core credit will be
applied for one sent in. Our pumps are rebuilt with as many genuine SU
spare parts as are available to make the pump like new. If new parts
are not available, then the original parts are cleaned, painted, plated,
and assembled. Every pump will receive new points, a diaphragm,
gaskets, and seals.
Our rebuilt pumps are fitted with a twin set of points rather then the
original single set, this makes them more reliable. They are fitted with
a new diaphragm which is resistant to additives in modern unleaded
fuels.
Our pumps are set to manufactures original settings, fully bench tested on an Original SU flow rig.
The pumps have a one year replacement warranty. For each pump you purchase from us, we will require your existing pump in exchange or the monetary value of the equivalent core pump. If you have a different type of core than the one you would like to purchase from us, you will be charged with the appropriate core value difference.
Pumps
generally take a week to rebuild and send back. If you are in need of
your pump sooner, please inform us and we will do everything we can to
expedite your order.

Grounds: Make sure the ground is clean and tight. Example: The MGB pump ground is attached to the rear license plate bracket. Over time, the paint and/or spacer settles and the ground is lost!
Fuel: Fuel that has been sitting in the pump for a prolonged period of time may turn into varnish and subsequently dry out the diaphragm. The electric SU pump runs constantly and relies on fuel passing through it for lubrication and cooling. Sediment may collect in the inlet filter and cause the pump to overwork and burn out. Too high of a coil amperage output will prematurely wear out the points. We get a lot of pumps sent in with their points burned out and their diaphragm dry and cracked.
A fuel filter may need to be installed before the pump. Always add a fuel stabilizer when your car is going to be sitting for a long period of time. Otherwise, drain the gas tank.
Charging: This can be related to SU pump performance. Voltage should be checked. Many generator-equipped cars may be at low or minimum voltage output. Refer to your workshop manual for voltage specifications and be cautious not to exceed maximum voltage settings. We by no means recommend you do this yourself! Adjustments should be made with care and by a skilled mechanic. With the regulator cover off, you can easily short one of the coils and burn the main harness causing a fire!
Contacts: A film may appear on the points that may interfere with good contact. This film will need to be filed off to ensure adequate contact.

Since we purchase collections of parts to acquire fuel pump cores , we always end up with parts that are of no use to us. Therefore we offer them for sale at sufuelpumps.webstore.com
Feel free to make an offer. Being in the British car business, we are used to stupid offers - who knows? We might even take it! We are always looking to buy or trade for your unwanted SU fuel pump parts and cores.
